I would like to give my thanks here to my lovely yogis who have continued to support me through these challenging times I couldn’t continue without you and your lovely comments and feedback inspire me every week.
Yoga One to One
Starting from where you are
Whether it is to improve your yoga practice, improve your fitness and strength, learn about yoga, help with specific needs ie. Back, knees, hips, injuries, release tension and stiffness, alleviate stress.
The class will be tailored to you with yoga sequences chosen with your specific needs in mind and to provide you
with a personalised practice.
Yoga Classes
Vinyasa Flow Classes
Each class begins with a grounding, calming, centring breathing exercise (Pranayama).
Warming up with gentle stretching exercises, we will then flow into variations of sun salutes and once we are energised we will include standing poses and warrior flows.
We will progress to a series of seated poses and finish with back bends and inversions before coming to the most important Savasana or relaxation with a guided relaxation technique or guided meditation.
Every class is different and has a progressive theme which may be physical with the progression towards a peak pose, or it may have a spiritual or emotional theme.
Beginners Yoga
Usually a 6 week course
During the course you will learn the key yoga postures (Asana), the fundamentals of yoga and the importance of breath, safe alignment and relaxation.
Yin Yoga
Most Yoga practices are dynamic and aim to work the muscles.
Yin Yoga is a slower paced practice, postures are held for longer working the deeper connective tissues of our body, the ligaments, joints, fascia and bones.
Physical benefits are improved Range of Motion and flexibility, strengthening of ligaments and bone density and nourishing and hydration of body tissue.
The energetic benefits are a reduction in stress levels and blood pressure, improving heart and lung function, reactivating the immune system, improving digestion and reducing inflammation.
It is a perfect complement to dynamic styles of Yoga creating balance, harmony and health and is suitable for all levels of student.
Yoga for Seniors
I have some very inspiring senior yogis and we work from where they are and their abilities and range of movement to create a class where they can relax, ease tension in their bodies, reduce aches and pains and build strength so they leave feeling more relaxed and energised.
Staying active is one of the best ways to achieve optimal physical and mental health.
Yoga builds flexibility in the joints and muscles and is an ideal form of movement for seniors.
The movement, mindfulness and breath awareness combine to boost health and enhance well being with physical, mental and spiritual benefits.
HeatherLoveYoga4Cancer
Yoga classes for those living with and impacted by cancer.
A safe, healing environment for those diagnosed with cancer, recovering from cancer, or suffering with the side-effects from the illness.
Mind – Body – Spirit
Classes include guided relaxation, meditation and breath work, and a gentle moving Vinyasa yoga practice.
Yoga can help to slowly restore strength and flexibility, increasing range of motion and building bone density which minimizes muscle atrophy.
Yoga movements and poses keep blood and lymph fluids circulating.
Yoga supports the immune system and helps promote well-being, ease anxiety and reduce stress.
My classes are tailored to unique needs and abilities and include modifications for limited mobility and physical discomfort.
Classes are small and in a safe environment.
Loved ones and carers are welcome to join too.
Please reach out for more information if you are interested in attending Yoga classes for cancer sufferers or know of someone who would benefit from the physical and emotional support.
